We are working to present Disney or famous movie themes for SongFest.


Come and join us this December 18th at 6:00 p.m.  



Fifth Grade:


Practice the choreography of the song “We are off to visit the Wizard for the songfest presentation.  
During the SongFest, students will have to dress up as one of the movie characters 
(It was assigned in class already).




Sixth Grade:

Practice the song “Hakuna Matata” from the movie
    The Lion King. 
    During the SongFest students will have to dress up as one of the movie characters 
(It was assigned in class already).




Seventh Grade:

Practice the main theme of the movie “Star Wars”, with the
    guitar, for songfest.

During the SongFest students will have to dress up as one of the movie characters 
(It was assigned in class already).



Eighth Grade:

  Practice the song “We go together” from the movie “Grease”
                                              for the songfest.

During the SonFest girls will use a long skirt, a blouse and black shoes with white socks; Boys will wear blue jeans, white T-Shirt and a leather black jacket, 
resembling the 70’s fashion.



Ninth Grade:

Students will make music out of unusual sources. They will practice rhythmical patterns with non-musical instruments to create  “Stop Rhythms” for the song fest presentation. 

Students will wear jeans and yellow, red or blue T-Shirt.    


A great project for this Holiday season. The NPH Giving Tree which consists of an initiative to provide shoes and socks for each of these children at the NPH home in Talanga.   A giving tree has been set up on the second floor of the secondary building.   Tree tags have the children's size information. Christmas is the season to open our hearts and share with those around us that need it most. It has been a tradition at Discovery School for students to come together and contribute in assembling baskets of goods for our support personnel.  We are asking for your cooperation in sending the following:
Pre Kinder and 6th grade students      1 5-lb bag of beans
Kinder and 7th grade students             1 5-lb bag of rice
1st grade and 8th grade students          1 5-lb bag of sugar
2nd grade and 9th grade students         1 bottle or 2 bags of oil, 2 boxes of margarine, OR
3 lbs of lard
3rd grade and 10th grade students        1 4lb-bag of MASECA
4th grade and 11th grade students        3 lbs of spaghetti (six packages) OR 1 bag of coffee
5th grade and 12th grade students        4 packages of tomato paste

Please feel free to send any additional goodies that you want to share with our devoted staff, such as canned goods, instant soups, cookies and crackers, or anything else that does not require refrigeration.  Please send these items no later than Friday, December 14th. Your participation will be deeply appreciated.
