OPERA SEASON IS IN TOWN! 

This year Discovery School students will have the opportunity to appreciate the Opera " LA SERVA PADRONA" 

(La Sirvienta Patrona) by Pergolesi 

This is a Opera Buffa (Comic Opera) in one act

Cost?         L. 300.00 per student 

                  Formal Clothes required (No tennis or jeans allowed) 

6th, 7th, 8th, 9th GRADES 

1. Opera origins. Students will watch the following video about the FIRST OPERA and his composer. After watching the video , answer the following questions: 

1. Name and year of the first Opera composed 

2. Name of the first opera composer

3. What is opera?

4. Why this composer decided to write Opera?

5. Name of the technique that the video participant used to finish the interview, that is also used in operas.

2. Notes F, G, D with the guitar. Location in the staff and in the guitar frets. 

7th

2. Harmonic circles with the guitar. Major and minor chords.

8th Grade

2. Song "Yankee Doodle" with the key board. 

9th Grade 

2. Polpular song performance as ensembles.

EM TECH AUDIT – Our school is being visited by a Technology team this week. They will be meeting with teachers, students, admin and parents. GENERAL ASSEMBLY – Our Fall General Assembly will take place this Saturday, September 27 at 9:00 a.m. in the school cafeteria. We invite all our parents to come and stay informed about important school decisions.

MAP FALL TESTING SESSION –We continue with week 2 of our fall testing session. Your cooperation in making sure your child does not miss school on the days we have the tests is greatly appreciated.
